Challenge

Enhance Brandeis brand reputation through an integrated media and creative effort.

Brandeis University is a prestigious institution that was often overlooked for its accomplishments and advancements in various fields, competing with other elite colleges for enrollments and donors. It also aimed to bring attention to its founding principles of fighting antisemitism, racism, and sexism.

Objective

In light of its 75th anniversary, Brandeis University sought an advertising agency to design and deploy a campaign to highlight continued commitment to its unique founding principles. Its visionary founders established Brandeis as a nonsectarian research university that welcomed faculty and students of all backgrounds and beliefs.

For the first time in the history of the school, we’ve relaunched the brand on its most important asset: its founding principles: social justice and academic rigor.

D/V performed comprehensive research to develop a reputation building campaign that targets key stakeholders including alumni, friends, family, and faculty. Our creative leaders took pride in delivering bold, brilliant, innovative, forward-thinking, and smart concepts that would make an impact in print, social, and digital advertisements. The result is powerful headlines supported by emotionally charged copy and visuals that resonate with audiences and move them to look at Brandeis University for the deep bond it has established with its community.

We started with print campaigns to remind the New York Times viewers of the impact such an amazing school has had on the country. Online and print advertising brought to light its strong ties to abolishing antisemitism and its strong beliefs in diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as social justice by providing a refuge for all students of all genders, races, and religions to receive a higher education.
